Our Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy

Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) initiatives are integral to ERP’s success in today’s world. Take a look at our ESG approach.

Our ESG Framework

Our Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy was designed to address several aspects of our industry that we are committed to improving upon responsibly and effectively.

As a power and lighting company, we have a deep understanding of the effects our field can have on the environment. We also recognize that not only has there been an historic lack of diversity in our sector, but that some of the work we do behind the scenes carries a level of risk and can be taxing on our team. From pushing sustainability efforts, to diversifying our workforce, to enforcing stricter health and safety regulations, we’re integrating ESG frameworks across the board.

Environmental

The environmental aspect of ESG ranges from government requirements to company priorities and lighting and power regulations. At ERP, we do our best to consider everything given the kind of work we do as a power and lighting company.

For starters, we carefully implement practices and procedures that help us adhere to government mandated environmental policies. To take that a step further, we recently completed our ISO 14001 certification, an internationally-recognized certification that ensures we have an Environmental Management System (EMS) in place. Our EMS helps us minimize our negative environmental impacts and keeps us in line with the highest standards of sustainability. Additionally, we have our emissions tested by a certified third party, because compliance, transparency, and adherence are of the utmost importance.

Since 2011, our PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) production has been paperless, which has helped us save an estimated 98,280 pages of paper in the years since. Our Warehouse Management System (WMS) is RFID controlled, the activities between our IQC (in-line quality control) operators and warehouse are automated, and our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) system has error-proofing in place, all of which help us achieve greater environmental success.

Social

The social component of our environmental, social, and governance policy directly correlates with the health and safety of our team, our impact on our local community, and the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As an international company that works with advanced technology, this aspect of our ESG approach is critical to our continued success, the health and happiness of our team members, and our ongoing efforts to shine brightly in the field of lighting and power.

In this area of ESG, government compliance standards act as a sort of guiding light for the framework of our social structures. To that end, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of social compliance and responsibility, which includes regularly checking in on how well we are complying. We are proud to report that our latest audits reveal we are 100% compliant across the board, including in the areas of labor laws, HR and SR policies, and training programs.

One achievement we are particularly proud of in this area of ESG is our workplace diversity; with a balanced number of male and female employees and growing ethnic diversity in our workforce, we are proudly compliant in the areas of gender and ethnic equality. Beyond that key component, we are also deeply proud of initiatives in the areas of continuing education, upward mobility, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

We are excited to announce our recently completed ISO 45001 certification, which works to ensure our compliance in the areas of occupational health and safety. While this is a new certification for us, we can proudly say that we have had no reported health or safety issues since 2015.

Governance

Governance is the third and final cog in the wheel of ensuring a safe, equitable, and thriving workplace. From risk management to our corporate governance structure, governance covers a lot of ground, and we’re proud to report our strict standards in this area.

Our corporate structure is routinely audited by third-party watchdogs who find that our standards and practices cover everything from sales and marketing to our board of directors.

We release a monthly DEI report to hold ourselves accountable to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Our DEI standards and practices include provisions such as open channels of communication for employee concerns and suggestions, anti-discrimination policies regarding suppliers, and ongoing training and promotional initiatives free from discriminatory practices.

The governance part of our environmental, social, and governance policy heavily revolves around DEI best practices, which is why we have spelled out standards for each section of DEI within our framework:

Diversity: Building a diverse talent pool free of any discrimination due to one’s race, religion, sexual orientation, age, identity, gender, or background.

Equity: Ensuring that all individuals regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, age, identity, gender, or background, have equal access to opportunities within ERP.

Inclusion: Creating an environment where employees feel they can safely bring forward divergent opinions and perspectives without fear of any reprisal.

Last but certainly not least, our yearly employee satisfaction survey represents how the work we do in this area positively impacts our workforce. From 2021 to 2022, satisfaction went up by an average of 15.7% across the board, and dissatisfaction dropped from 26.4% to 6%. We are thrilled to know that not only are we complying with ESG standards but our workforce is genuinely benefiting from our environmental, social, and governance policy.
